Roland Garros Paris 2019: A major tennis event not to be missed!
PARIS MAJOR OUTDOOR EVENTS
With the return of the sun and the mild temperatures, Paris plays the card of the outdoors and offers many outdoor events: Roland Garros, European Night of Museums, Music Festival … There is something for everyone!
With the arrival of good weather, the sport takes off in Paris!
The little yellow ball is in the spotlight with the Roland Garros tennis tournament, which brings together the greatest tennis players worldwide Porte d’Auteuil (May 26 to June 9).
Also on the board: the legendary twenty-three obstacles at the Grand Steeple-Chase in Paris on May 18th and 19th at Race course d’Auteuil. Not to mention, at Hippodrome de Chantilly (60), the Prix du Jockey Club coming back on June 3rd and the very elegant Prix de Diane Longines on June 16th.
On May 8, it is the turn of the final of the Coupe de France Women’s Football to choose its champions (place not determined yet).
June is also the month of sport. It opens with the highly anticipated Top 14 rugby final at the Stade de France on Saturday, June 15, and at the end of which is dedicated the best French club of the season!
Finally, the Open de France is back on the green of the Guyancourt National Golf at the end of June.
Jazz, free open air concerts…
The great festivals take place in May and June. Many are organized outdoors for the pleasure of music lovers! All music lovers meet in the capital to enjoy 100% musical events.
Villette Sonique, the talent-clearing festival is back at Parc de la Villette (from 06 to 09 June). Then, comes the bucolic and engaged We Love Green in the Bois de Vincennes (1st and 2nd June 2019).
On the other hand, there are two Jazz events side not to be missed! It swings on the Left Bank with Jazz Festival in Saint-Germain-des-Prés (May 16 – 27). In June, it is also the return of the Paris Jazz festival at the floral park as Musicora 2019 (May 3rd to May 5th) makes the Halle of La Villette vibrate while displaying the biggest showroom of musical instruments of France!
Then, Solidays, one of the highlights of the summer, reinvests the race course of Longchamp (dates to come). On the menu, an eclectic program which goes from rock to pop and electro.
Many other festivals flourish in June in the four corners of the capital and in Île-de-France: Onze Bouge, La Plage de Glazart, Mini Opera Coté Cour at Bercy Village and also La Defense Jazz festival, parties everywhere…
June 21: Paris celebrates Music
The other major event is the Festival of Music, June 21, which celebrates the return of the summer with French fanfare. In addition to the big free concerts organized in key locations in the capital, everyone is free to play his favorite instrument. On this day the longest of the year, the streets of Paris are in tune and there’s something to hear!
Musical shows in the open air!
In May, Paris celebrates the Opera. May 3rd and 5th: Tous à l’Opéra (let’s all go to the Opera). The lyrical world will reachyou. All performances are free for a weekend in the many establishments participating in the festival. Open air opera highlights from June to September (dates to come) a lyrical work of the classical repertoire in France most prestigious sites.
At the Palace of Versailles, Les Grandes Eaux Nocturnes Water shows and the Royal Serenades of the Galerie des Glaces Hall make the Royal Palace of Versailles vibrate (June 15 – September 14, 2019).
